Summary

In this chapter, we've taken a whirlwind tour of the ArcGIS API for JavaScript. We've gained familiarity with how the website and API is organized. We've studied the Map object in detail, looking at all its parts. We've looked over the other parts of the API, including layers, graphics, toolbars, tasks, and dijits. We've discussed how each of these are implemented, and some use cases for them. Now that we know more about the parts of the API, we can use these components to create custom applications and widgets in the next chapter.
