Summary

In this chapter, we scratched the surface of the four lightning features—Lightning Process Builder, Lightning Connect, Lightning Components, and the Lightning App Builder. In the next few years, I expect Lightning Components and the Lightning App Builder will start replacing the venerable Visualforce for custom UIs on the platform. Until then, Process Builder remains a fantastically powerful addition to the platform that can even replace basic triggers. Lightning Connect, on the other hand, has immediate benefits for accessing data stored outside the platform.

In our next chapter, we'll start getting into the thick of unit testing, discussing how, why, and what to test!
