Public cloud networks

As deployments in public clouds have become more prevalent, the uptime of the network connections becomes more important. This can become even more problematic when a single cluster is distributed into data centers across multiple providers.

When working with your cloud providers, the best (and most expensive) option is to go with a direct connection or pipe to their data centers. If that's not possible, a virtual private network (VPN) connection can link the provider with your enterprise network. For best results, that connection should be able to support between 1 GB and 10 GB per second.
