Add a Behavior

You can add basic interactivity to your Web pages by inserting JavaScript code. JavaScript was originally developed by the Netscape Corporation, but is now an open scripting language that can be freely used by anyone and is supported in every major browser.

While you can write JavaScript yourself, Dreamweaver provides two methods by which you can implement JavaScript in your pages without writing code. The first is through behaviors, which exist as prebuilt blocks of JavaScript with specific functionality. The second, Spry, is discussed in the next chapter.
