You now understand what is meant by full-text searches and the reason why you need them. You now know how to use full-text searches with the standard storage engine of MariaDB. You also know how to use the Mroonga engine to make faster queries and support the CJK languages. You are also able to set up Sphinx and SphinxSE as powerful full-text engines behind your SQL database.
In the next chapter, you will learn to use the CONNECT storage engine with MariaDB. Unlike everything we have seen until now, this storage engine will allow us to access data stored in different formats in external files.
