Types (Unique Symbols)

When you are only symbolizing one categorical attribute, you use the Types (Unique Symbols) option. This option allows you to create symbols for each unique value (it can be set to a maximum of 200). Typically, this option works best when you can group your data into 2-10 groups. In the options of Types (Unique Symbols), a list is presented with the unique values of your attribute column. Smart mapping will automatically choose a color ramp and give you a count of the amount of features per unique value. If your data has more than 10 unique values, any value after the 10th will be grouped together with the Other value.
