Scale of your data

An important factor in displaying your data is to fully understand the scale at which it will be presented. As discussed in this chapter, there is an abundance of data nowadays. Mapping all of this dense data can be tough, especially when the data is clumped together and is spread out over a large area. When dealing with so much data, you should fit your map to make sure it captures the entirety of your data. You should also realize that you may need to create an inset map showing a zoomed in portion where the data is too bunched to be seen at the zoom level of your map. Alternatively you may have to aggregate your data so the map viewer can understand it.
