Security obviously means different things to different people. In the post 9-11 world in which we live, most people think of security as protection from physical harm. Certainly, physical security is, and always will be, a top priority—but it’s not the only kind of security to which we as individuals, businesses, and nations need to pay attention. As U.S. companies grow increasingly dependent upon computer networks, information security becomes a prominent national issue. And as these companies increasingly have global presences, global information security becomes part of this concern, too.
