Slitters

This chapter describes the configuration of slitters appropriate for flexible packaging structures. Such equipment is a segment of the much larger selection of slitters for materials with different physical properties than those typical of this industry. These considerations of scale are particularly critical in equipping the operation with equipment able to match the roll stock dimensions of printing presses and laminators that feed it (i.e., usually few very large, heavy rolls) with those of the rolls expected by the customer (i.e., usually many relatively large, rolls less than about 40 pounds).
