The Good is good in many senses of that word. He’s good at his job. He’s good as his word. He delivers good results. He is also the epitome of managerial competence. Efficient is his middle name. If all this seems like I’m damning him with faint praise, that’s not my purpose. Rather, recognize that if you have a Good boss, you don’t have a Great one. You will be working for someone who is considerate, reasonable, logical, and knowledgeable, but you won’t be working for someone who helps the group hit home runs or provides inspiring leadership.
