Importance of the Statement of Work and Outsourcing Contract

When projects are outsourced, you must carefully document the work being contracted to the outsource company. The Statement of Work (SOW) defines the work tasks and deliverables that the outsourced company is being contracted to provide. The Statement of Work should be very clear, concise, and unambiguous. It is especially important to be aware of the language used when you outsource work to a foreign company. It is also important to understand the laws in those countries. Anything in your contract that is out of compliance with a country’s laws will not be enforceable.
