Hundreds of tools exist for different types of collaboration — from open source to really expensive, and from one tool/one task to integrated suites. With all these options, adding a tools section to a book on concepts is an interesting challenge, one that is almost guaranteed not to succeed.

Unlike books that describe how to use a product (such as How to Use This Most Amazing Software, Version 2), this book has a fairly broad audience. We determined that we could expect managers, educators, trainers, senior technical staff, localization vendors, and team members themselves to read this book. (We know that some of our family members will also skim through it, but we do not consider them our target audience.)
