About the Author

Ian Gordon is a management consultant with over 25 years of marketing and strategy consulting experience. He is president of Convergence Management Consultants Ltd., a Toronto-based customer relationship and revenue acceleration consulting firm (www.converge.ca). Prior to founding Convergence in 1996, Ian worked for 14 years with Ernst & Young's Toronto office, where he was senior partner responsible for the marketing, research and strategy consulting practice and the firm's focus on technology and manufacturing companies. Ian has been employed in executive management positions by multinational companies in the consumer products and software sectors.

Ian pioneered and formalized strategic relationship marketing principles and documented his perspectives and experience in his book entitled Relationship Marketing: New Strategies, Techniques and Technologies to Win the Customers You Want and Keep Them Forever, published by John Wiley & Sons Canada in 1998. Ian conducts strategic relationship management consulting assignments to help companies reimagine, reframe and pursue customer and stakeholder relationships. He has worked with global, intermediate-sized and emerging clients around the world, including four of the ten largest firms in the United States and many companies in diverse industries in the United States, Canada, Europe, Japan, Asia, South America and Africa.
