Just Enough-ness

A much better strategy is to get past the kitchen sink and shoot for just enough software for each release. What is just enough? It's the smallest set of features, and the simplest implementation of those features, that adds incremental value to the business. In other words, the bare minimum.

Everybody needs to be on the same team and act like it, working together to produce just enough software necessary for each release. Each release should have just enough new and improved stuff to create a product that will make customers noticeably happier, or set the team up to do that next time. A team can grow software that way only if they trust feedback to direct them.
