Chapter 9. The Lost Art of Conversation

If we're growing software, projects are different from what we might be used to, based on our education and work experience.

Nobody should dictate that a project should be done. Instead, projects should be conceived, born, grown, and killed by conversation. This is a lost art in business. We've lost the ability to talk to each other to discover meaning. We still know how to argue, but that's a different…uh…skill. In our quest for control, we've forsaken creativity. That's a bad trade. We need to rediscover the benefits of talking to each other.
