9.5. PERSONAL STYLES OF CONFLICT RESOLUTION

Each person has a particular style for solving conflict. Do you want to know what your style is? If you do, respond to the statements in Table 9.1 by strongly agreeing (score it a 5), agreeing (score it a 4), disagreeing (score it a 2), or strongly disagreeing (score it a 1) with each item. If you are not sure, use a score of 3. In the blanks imagine the words boss, subordinates, or peers. You can do this three times, to get an idea of your style when you are dealing with these three types of people. It is likely that your style will be a bit different when you deal with your subordinates or peers. Please do this before you read the next paragraph.
