Creating an Initial Iteration Plan

An initial iteration plan breaks down your project into fixed time durations and tentatively schedules features for each iteration. The iterations that you can specify in your project are simply labels and have no relation to any particular block of time or duration. For this reason, many organizations change their iteration-naming conventions to include the data ranges the iteration covers. For example, instead of having Iteration 1, organizations would change the name of the iteration to "Iteration1 – Dec18–Dec29".
