SUMMARY: AVOIDING ORGANIZATIONAL INDIGESTION

Perhaps this heading seems a little odd for a summary and concluding comments. However, it describes the manner in which Product Management can contribute to the organization’s success—and some stumbling blocks to that success.

I talk about “organizational indigestion” when a great product idea doesn’t get to see the light of day, either because there aren’t enough resources or an executive thinks he or she has a monopoly on creativity. Or the executives put up some organizational obstacles. Organizational indigestion happens when systemic obstacles stand in the way of success.
