SUMMARY

I see an organization as a big sandbox. The sandbox is a popular playground structure. But space is limited, and lots of children want to play there, so the competition can be a challenge. Because they come and go, the denizens of the sandbox change from time to time. And all of them have different ideas about what they want to do. Some want to build castles; some just want to move the sand around. Sometimes they start “battles” over territory, and other times they contest one another’s creative efforts. Sometimes they need parental intervention. The possibilities for how to play and how to be open to rewarding experiences are up to the would-be players.
