33.5. Running the Fetchmail Daemon

If you are using the module to manage a single Fetchmail configuration file, it is possible to start a background process to regularly check the servers and mailboxes in that file.

To do this, follow these steps:

At the bottom of the main page is a button labeled Start Fetchmail Daemon. In the description next to it is a text field for entering the number of seconds that the daemon should wait between checks. A short period (such as 60 seconds) means that you will receive email sooner, but at the cost of using more bandwidth and CPU time, due to frequent checking.

After entering a checking period, hit the Start Fetchmail Daemon button to start the background fetchmail process. The page will be redisplayed, ...
