Here we look at the ‘implementation’ phase, where issues of how we move innovation ideas into reality become central. Chapter 9 looks at the ways in which innovation projects of various kinds are organized and managed and explores structures, tools and other support mechanisms to help facilitate this. Specifically, we focus on the development of new products and processes. Chapter 10 goes beyond product and service development, and examines the creation of new ventures: those arising from within the existing organization (corporate entrepreneurship); joint ventures between organizations; and those that involve setting up a new entrepreneurial venture outside the organization.
