The audiovisual industry is a high profile business sector in modern society. Film, television and other media communication channels have had a profound effect upon society within modern western culture. Watching television is a major pasttime for many people. It has been accused of being a key influence in aspects of antisocial behaviour, and of being the underlying reason for obesity in children and teenagers of the 1990s.
