Reward Yers When They’ve Done a Good Job

•   Base your incentives and rewards on one factor and one factor only: performance. Establish clear performance guidelines for every employee, and monitor performance closely and fairly. Then reward people when they perform, and don’t reward them when they don’t perform.

•   Determine which tasks, projects, and responsibilities are suitable for short-term incentives. What must someone get done, by when, and up to what standards to earn an incentive?
