Be Respectful, and Call Forth Respect in Return

•   When dealing with Gen Y employees, choose your words and actions as carefully as you would with other co-workers.

•   When assigning, collaborating, or evaluating work, focus (in your own mind) on the value your Gen Yers are adding to the end result. If they are not adding enough value, take responsibility for that management failure and address the problem squarely. What do you need to do as a manager to make sure the young talent on your team is adding value?

•   Remind yourself, as often as necessary, just why you are utilizing Gen Y talent in your organization, on your team, or for a particular project.
