Allow Some Flexibility in Scheduling

•   Take an inventory of all the tasks and responsibilities assigned to a particular Gen Yer. Then decide which ones need to be done in a certain place at specific hours, and which ones don’t. Use those that don’t as opportunities to lend more flexibility to the job. Then position that flexibility as a reward for good performance.

•   Set standards for requests for time off or schedule changes. If your work situation simply requires that someone be in a certain place at a certain time, empower your staffers to collaborate on covering bases when one of them needs time off or a change in schedule.
