Introduction

In this book, we discussed statistical techniques and problem solving methods to improve the quality of products and services. The term statistical process control is often used to cover all uses of statistical techniques for the control of product quality. We presented a number of methods and tools to demonstrate how quality improvement methods can be applied to several areas of a company. The quality tools discussed can be applied to a number of areas including manufacturing, process development, engineering design, production and operations, and service industries.
