T o extend current thinking and practice in agile methodologies and project management, Managing Agile Projects draws inspiration from concepts and techniques from other disciplines including complexity theory, organizational learning, and Lean Thinking; all honed through real-life application. It contains four major parts that are rooted in an underlying metaphor of projects as complex systems: a definition of agile project management (APM) and a role for the agile manager; APM practices for alignment and cooperation; practices for emergence and self-organization; and a practice for learning and adaptation. A chapter on transitioning from familiar tools and techniques to APM closes this book.
