Chapter 2THE POWER OF TRUST: INTEGRITY, OPENNESS, AND RESPECT

Trust is a vital management ingredient, the foundation of success not only for the manager, but for the enterprise as a whole. I feel so strongly about this concept, I wanted “trust” to be the book’s first main principle we delve into. All other pieces of a manager’s job are built upon trust.

I offer this chapter to focus on how the three major qualities of trust are facilitators of success: integrity, openness, and respect. Without these qualities, companies and managers can still survive—although it’s getting a lot tougher—but they certainly will not achieve the same results they can with them.
