Nuances of planning in India
Planning and execution depends on the people, and the way people work depends on the work and social culture of that region. Clearly, India has its own set of nuances. Here are some that impact your plan.
Not saying NO
Indians always find it hard to say NO. I'm generalizing here, but it's true that we do have trouble saying 'no', especially to our managers. If you ask one of your team members to take on an additional task, very likely the answer would be 'Ok, I'll take care of that'.
While managers love the guys who are ready to take on more, there is a real chance that the guy may end up missing his deadlines. You may still love him for he took on the additional work; however, your plan may be off track.
