Measure Value

As a leader in the organization, you care about the number of projects successfully completed per unit time.[10] Projects that don’t successfully complete lead to emergency projects, which reduces your management effectiveness and your ability to provide value to the organization, as in Figure 4, A dynamic view of what happens when no one manages the project portfolio. When teams take a long time to complete projects, you don’t enough flexibility to change what’s going on in the organization—to actually manage the project portfolio.
