Chapter 8Make Portfolio Decisions

By now, you’ve evaluated each project and ranked it. Let’s step back and reconsider the finer points of what it means to commit to, kill, or transform a project.

Making those decisions is not easy. You’ll need to gather data about the projects and decide how to make your decisions. One way is to conduct a portfolio evaluation meeting. You may have heard of these as management reviews. Don’t worry—this isn’t the kind of management review you’re used to. There won’t be a dog-and-pony show with Gantt charts or traffic-light status reports. This management review is crisp and is designed to provide you with the information you need.
