Chapter 3Create the First Draft of Your Portfolio

Now that you understand the basics, it’s time to collect all the work you and your group are supposed to be doing. It’s easy to get caught up in evaluating the work while you are collecting it. Don’t. First, make sure you know about all the work people across the organization expect of you. Then and only then will you be able to assign the work to your portfolio by evaluating it and determining whether you need to do it now. Don’t try to do everything at once; start collecting all the work before you attempt to evaluate it.
