Manage Cross-Program Schedule Changes with Stickies

If you need to change the program’s schedule, use stickies so everyone can see who’s doing what when. You might be able to use a Gantt chart for verifying program progress. But using a Gantt to change the schedule is not enough. Make the schedule a Big Visible Chart. Manage it that way.

You can still ask your project managers to ask their people to develop inch-pebbles. Your job, along with your project managers, is to develop the schedule of handoffs so everyone can see the interdependencies. The project managers manage how their team members achieve those deliverables. Your job is to look for obstacles and remove them.
