The entire project team collaboratively developed the schedule. Everyone has confidence in the schedule. And then something happens.

Don’t worry. The schedule is the team’s best guess today about how the project will unfold. As soon as something happens, generally the day or two after the schedule is “complete,” the original schedule is toast. That’s why I try to do just enough scheduling and expect to use rolling-wave planning, so I can easily update the schedule as circumstances change.
