Marc J. Epstein’s work with CEOs and other senior executives of global corporations over the last 30 years has often begun with a query that goes something like: “Marc, I have spoken publicly about the importance of stakeholder engagement and sustainability [or corporate social responsibility], but do you realize how great the challenge is to implement this in my company of 50,000–100,000 employees?
