They often work on projects that show a sense of whimsy.

Play is a natural consequence of curiosity. Sophi Kravitz grew up playing unusual games. Games like “Where is Patty Hearst?” and one in which the periodic table of the elements was the board. In that game, you would roll the dice and then recite from memory all the elements, that came before the one that you landed on. You would then be quizzed on aspects of that element such as its atomic weight or common applications. The periodic table game was a favorite of hers, and she would eagerly play it with her two younger brothers. Needless to say, these weren’t games that were purchased from a local toy store.
