A Thankfully Short Message: Living with Gratitude

Last week, I was invited to dinner with a client to celebrate the beginning of construction on her new project. This client invited all the people who participated on her team—the architects, engineers, brokers, project manager, and contractor—to join her and her colleagues after work for a meal together. Over the course of the dinner, the client stood and toasted each person in attendance:

“Thank you to Josephine, for your beautiful design.”

“Thank you to Joe, for your tireless work to find us the perfect space.”

“Thank you to Oliver, for saving us money and for the good work that we know you will do.”

“Thank you, Janice, for understanding our needs and communicating them to the team.” ...
