Achieve Business Alignment

Ideally, every analytics project should be aligned to business measures. Unfortunately, many are not. Alignment occurs at different levels and should occur at the conception of the problem, which often helps lead to a solution. Next, alignment occurs throughout implementation of the solution when stakeholders focus on specific business measures. Finally, to show executives that the project was worthwhile, alignment must be demonstrated through follow-up, which means tracking the business data, isolating the effects of the solution, and validating that business alignment did occur.
