Chapter 1. Welcome to Premiere Elements

Premiere Elements is easy to learn, and for the most part, you can use it without having to fiddle with its options or do any elaborate set up. But just as with any new tool you use, it's a good idea to take a quick look around to familiarize yourself with the basic operations. That's what you'll do in this chapter. Then you'll be ready to jump right in and start bringing your video footage into Premiere Elements and begin making movies.

Hold off on launching Premiere Elements while we take a quick tour of its main windows. Then we'll launch the program, select startup options and set all necessary project options.
