Sticking Hair Lace

Spirit gum is used for sticking hair lace. It is a natural product that comes from gum trees. There are several gums to choose from, depending on what is required. A thick gum will stick firmly, but it may possibly shine. Thicker gum could be useful in theatre work but for TV or film work a finer gum may have to be used. It is possible to get matt gum.

Paint the gum onto the skin and wait a few seconds for it to become tacky. Apply the lace and press firmly with a damp cloth. The cloth will prevent the gum from sticking to fingers and will keep the lace clean.
