Understanding how natural hair falls is an important prerequisite to being able to create hairstyles. Root direction varies depending on the part of the head and from person to person. If the natural parting for someone is on the left, the style will need to follow this, with the bulk of the hair falling to the right. Going against the root movement may be uncomfortable for the wearer and the style is likely to collapse or drop out quickly.
