Modern Hairdressing

Before heated rollers and electric tongs were invented, artists had to arrive at studios very early to have their hair washed and set in rollers. Unless it is for something special, that is no longer necessary. Artists are expected, sometimes asked, to arrive with clean hair, and any setting is done with heated rollers or tongs.

It takes longer to train in hairdressing than make-up and takes a lot of practice and experience to make hair do what you want it to do! However experienced you are, remember to be firm and positive about what you are doing; there’s nothing worse than having someone dressing your hair when they are really afraid to touch it!
