Crêpe Hair

The cheapest false hair is crêpe hair, which is made from wool. Long strands of wool are brushed and plaited into long wefts and then dyed. When it is being used, it is cut to length and teased out into fluffy strands or balls of ‘hair’. This is generally used for wig dressing when the hairstyle requires more body or width than the wig can provide. The crêpe hair is used as ‘stuffing’. It can be straightened by removing the cord, wetting the braided hair and stretching it to dry.
