Faux = Fake.
This whole book is basically about how to make things look like other things. If you’ve been following along, you’ve been building things out of scraps of plastic, paper, cardboard, and pipe, and random bits of pressed sawdust. While it’s easy enough to just paint them a particular base color and leave it at that, sometimes it needs to be a bit more complicated. In this chapter, we’re going to look at some creative ways to turn all of the random stuff you’ve been making things out of into believable pieces of metal, wood, and so on.
