Riley Mullen’s “Mini Spin Art Machine” sprang from his love of taking apart broken electronics and experimenting with the components. In this case, he had a computer fan and a 9V battery; add some pens and the next thing he knew he was making art. “Turning electronic ‘junk’ into unexpected fun is really satisfying,” says Riley. The youngest contributor to this collection, at 12 years of age Riley is currently taking junior college classes and planning to be a chemist someday.
