Burnt Cookie Deflector

Aluminum foil heavy-duty

Cookie sheet roughly the same size as the cookie sheet you use to bake the cookies on

Probably the toughest part of baking great-tasting cookies is avoiding a hard, burnt bottom! While the problem could be that the oven’s thermostat is inaccurate, the cause is more likely that infrared radiation is striking the bottom of the baking sheet, which heats it several hundred degrees hotter than the oven’s air temperature. This really hot baking sheet is what burns the bottoms of the cookies.
