Chapter 8. Adding Power

Enough with the metal—let’s check out how to add electronics to our bikes. In this chapter, you’ll explore what it takes to provide electrical power for your bike. First, you’ll add a solar cell, which allows you to charge your phone while you ride. Then, I’ll show you how to attach a weatherproof enclosure, which can hold a battery pack and microcontroller, to your bike. This will prepare you for later chapters, which include progressively more complicated electronics projects.
