Chapter 3. Two-Axis Camera Gimbal

by Nick Ernst

Whether you’re an avid quadcopter pilot, or you prefer to have your hobbies grounded, we all appreciate a steady picture from our camera.

With how much brushless motors have improved, it’s no wonder that they’ve been incorporated into video stabilization. However, although these motors are widely available, a good camera gimbal is still a pricey purchase.

This project will allow you to 3D-print a quality camera gimbal for less than half of what it would cost to buy one. With minimal hardware and only the necessary electronics, this project is perfect to get you started with camera stabilization.
