I THINK I WILL ALWAYS have a hard time processing being at my mother’s funeral one day and being on 20/20 the next. Given all that occurred, it’s not unusual I penned the line for retailer Charivari, “Expect the unexpected.” Charivari was one of the first clients we landed. For those who don’t know, in its day (the eighties!) it was one of the leading lights of retail. While I was never a hard-core automotive or package goods guy, I took to fashion, beauty, and luxury like a duck to water. With the rag trade in my genes, I really enjoyed the fashion clients, the models, the shoots, the stylists, and the ridiculous behavior. And I understood the importance of the retail market.
