Chapter 1. Exploring the Dreamweaver Environment

Dreamweaver, with its multidimensional set of features for managing every aspect of Web and page design and management, has never been famous for an accessible environment. After five years of using and teaching Dreamweaver nearly every day, I continue to stumble on (or have students discover) time-saving techniques, hidden features, and better or more convenient ways to access frequently used techniques.

In this introductory chapter, I’ll survey the key elements of the Dreamweaver interface and the best ways to access tools and features that you need to survive while you build a complex (or basic) Web site.
